Taubman Asia is providing long-term development, leasing, and center management services for a 1.1-million-square-foot retail and entertainment complex scheduled to open in 2010 in Incheon, South Korea (about 40 miles southwest of Seoul). New Songdo International Business District, a massive $30 billion international city, is being created by an impressive public/private investor consortium on 1,500 acres along Incheon’s waterfront. The city’s retail center will be the country’s first international-style shopping mall and will include Korean retail giant, Lotte Department Store. The twelve-level flagship store, which includes two levels of parking, will be approximately 522,000-square-feet.
